Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have three spots on my nose. They appeared over a week ago. My nose got very red and it felt like there were bumps under the skin which developed almost like large angry red pimples. They are still here a week later but seem to be going away. There is nothing draining from them
Very likely this is folliculitis, a skin infection that affects the root of the hair. It is common at the nose due to the tendency of the nose to host staphylococcus. If the lesion is going away, you do not need to worry. Just allow it to have its normal course. Do not pick on the lesion, do not remove crusts. If the lesion is not improving then local antibiotic cream and local warm compresses are recommended.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
