What Causes Redness And Swelling In The Lips?

Hi yes my daughter is 26 and nonverbal autistic.the inside of her lip is a red and swollen. Her doctor and dentist won t give her any prescription medication. Is there anything I can do to stop this swollen inflammation? I am trying several over the counter things

Hi. Thank you for your question.
I have gone through your question and I think your daughter might be having some habit of lip biting. There is nothing major to worry about. Due to lip biting, some minor salivary glands get damaged and cause pooling of saliva inside the mucosa. This is called as mucocele formation. In case she is suffering from mucocele, she may have to get it removed by oral and maxillofacial surgeon. Send me some pictures of the lips so that I may get a better idea of what she is suffering from.
