What Causes Redness And Swelling In Toes Along With Throbbing Sensation?

for the last two my toes have very red, one is swell a bit but veery sore, throbs at night. for the last 2 night both fet have been very itchy tonight can t get to sleep due to the itching and the throbbing of my toe. l ave not knocked or done anyone to it.

Based on what you said, I suspect it as acute paronychia. it is soft tissue infection around fingernail resulting in symptoms you have described.

If there is any discharge from toes, you may also need to do a culture test as well as KOH 5% smear to rule out fungal cause.

A short course of antibiotics is usually prescribed in your case. Drugs like penicillin and cephalexin are given for week and follow up is necessary after that. You make take diclofenac K 50mg twice a day for pain relief.
