Hello,

The swelling on the tip of your nose can be due to the probable causes:
1) Furuncle or boil
2) Pimple
3) Allergic contact dermatitis
4) Pustule
5) Rash due to frequent nose blowing
6) Sinusitis
7) Vestibulitis
8) Common cold

You can use Bactroban 2% ointment to be applied on the swelling. Please don't apply it inside the nose as the swelling is outside. If the swelling doesn't reduce even after 2 days of ointment use, you may need to go for antibiotic like tab. Amoxiclav 625mg thrice daily for 5 days.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
