What Causes Redness In The Eyes While Suffering From Diabetes?
My friend is a diabetic, over weight, hasn t seen a doctor or taken care of his diabetes in 2yrs and his eyes are always bloodshot and his feet and ankles.are black and feel like leather. He s afraid to go the the hospital because of possible amputation. Is that likely? He doesn t feel good and it hurts to walk.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Diabetes raises the risk of infection and glaucoma, among other things, either of which could possibly be the cause of one eye becoming red and painful. If this occurs, you should seek medical attention immediately.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
