What Causes Redness, Itching And Burning Around The Eyes?

the area around my eyes is extremely red, burning, itching and flaking... been to urgent care twice... they gave me antibiotics it s getting worse and spreading to my face and temples my eyes burn and upper and lower lids swollen and red... they diagnosed cellulitis...

Hi Dear ,

Welcome to HCM,

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have redness, itching and burning around the eyes . Well there can be many reason for symptoms you mention in query like Contact dermatitis , allergic reaction , side effect , sensitivity to sunlight , conjunctivitis and eczema . I would suggest you to apply cold compresses or ice pack to rashes to reduce itchiness and burning , do not apply any cosmetic product and take bendryl twice a day , If condition doesn't get better in a days then consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may prescribe anti histamine , give adrenaline shot , anti inflammatory and corticosteroid ointment . For now stay in moist environment and drink plenty of water . Doctor may also refer you to ophthalmologist for eye problem . Take proper sleep.
