What Causes Redness On The Face After Using Dettol For Acne?
I applied undiluted dettol on my whole face to get rid of acne but my whole face got red then i applied my acne cream on it n it started burning n was equally red then i decided to wash my face. After a while i applied uv sunscreen on my face.it somehow gave relief to my face but its still red.Now im afraid that what impact it will leave on my face.
The redness and burning you are experiencing is due to chemical burn with Dettol use on skin. Dettol, especially in concentrated form, is not meant for use on skin. You can apply over the counter Hydrocortisone 1% cream until the burning and redness subside. Use sunscreen with high SPF (70 and above). Wash the face with water and use mild soap only.
Hope I was able to help you Please address further questions here Regards, Dr.Lekshmi
