What Causes Redness Under The Breasts Upon Using Antibiotics For Vaginal Infection?
Hello doctor, I m a 52 years old female i recently noticed redness under my right breast, the symptoms occurred after taking antibiotics for vaginal infection. I can t be anywhere near heat and it s so itchy, I tried using baby powder but nothing changed. What do you think ??
It is possibly due to intertrigo which is inflammation in the body folds such as under the breasts.
Some persons may also get a rash in the armpits or in the groin area.
You can continue the baby powder to keep the area dry and also to prevent the body folds from rubbing. In addition the use of a topical steroid and topical antifungal infection may also help.
Eg of the topical steroid is hydrocortisone which should be available over the counter
Eg of topical anti fungals are miconazole, ketoconazole, econazole
I hope this helps
