What Causes Redness Under The Nail Bed After A Hairline Fracture On Toe?
Approximately 2 weeks ago I got a hairline fracture in my big toe and scraped the top of the nail. I began developing a minor subungual hematoma (blood under the nail) that I was told by a nurse practitioner would go away on its own over time. Now the center of the cuticle of the same nail is red and there's a small amount of redness extending out under the nailbed. Is this a normal part of the healing process, or do I need to have this looked at a second time?
