What Causes Redness With Stinging Sensation At The Vaginal Opening?

I had my first yeast infection and I used Monistat 1 to get rid of it. It seemed to have worked so the day after I had sexual intercourse and I believe I now have a chemical burn at the bottom of my vaginal opening because it stings when I touch or stretch or just open it to look at it, its bright red and sex is unbearable. No discharge no other problem areas.

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Yeast infection also can give redness and irritation. It can also be due to tear from sexual intercourse. Avoid soaps and irritants to wash the area as it can cause more irritation. You can use saline or warm water for this. You can apply betadine ointment for local application in such tear. If you using Clotrimazole cream. Use it for more than one week as yeast infection can recur.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
