What Causes Reduced Blood Pressure In A Dementia Patient?

My mother is 88 years old and I checked her blood pressure this evening and it was 104/60 pulse 70. It usually is 120/72 somewhere around there and pulse is anywhere from 62 to 74. She has dimenthia also. Should I be concerned about her vitals at this rate?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
hello,
i can understand your concern.
fall in blood pressure in this age can be due to dehydration and reduced intake of food.
104/60 should not be of much concern.. this is quite normal. pulse rate of 70 is also normal. if the blood pressure reduces further to below 90/60 or the pulse becomes rapid and thready ,i would advise an hospital admission an proper evaluation.
kindly give plenty of fluids. addition of ors to water would be helpful.
feed her in regular intervals.
this would be sufficient for now.
hope i have answered your queries.
feel free to ask further queries.
thanks for choosing HCM
