General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi.

Children at that age can struggle to pass their bowels and this is normal so do not worry about it. Make sure your child is being fed food that has components to help with stool formation and also is rich in fibre. Change her diet and take her to a nutritionist who should be able to advise better. Also, adding a laxative to her routine should be considered the last resort, making lifestyle changes should suffice in most cases.

Best wishes.
