Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a bypass and mitral valve prolapse repair done 18 months ago. A year ago, my EF came in at 40%. I am active (in gym 3X/week, doing 2 miles on treadmill and working weights. Basically, I feel fantastic. EKG came in normal as did checkup, but Echo showed 15%. I m dumbfounded... more energy than in the last 20 years. Can this be in error?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Prashant's Response
Hello,
Your ejection fraction, your echo report tells it's 15%. Well knowing that you are able to do gym and cardio. I don't think your echo report is right. If I were your treating physician, I would recommend you to get it done again. Consult your treating physician regarding this, he will clarify this much better.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Prashant
