What Causes Reduced Thick Menstrual Bleeding While On Birth Control Pills?

I m on the pill although sometimes do not take my weekly break because of my job I am currently on my week break from my pill and should come on my period around the 3rd/4th day of being off. This time there is hardly any blood and what there is is very thick rather than a normal liquids flow. Is this normal?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello welocme to HCM. Yes it is normal. You are supplementing the synthetic hormones through out the month. This will definetely disturbs the body hormonal levels. Stress and life styles also affects your periods. So nothing to worry. Take healthy diet. Start taking the next month pills. The periods will come back to normal. Take care.
