What Causes Reduction In WBC Levels?

I have a low WBC. It has been 3.6 for the last two blood tests. The doctor has scheduled me for a endoscopy as I had my gallbladder removed in Jan 2012 . I have no pain. My father died of Lupus and my mother a brain aneurism, both in their early 50 s. I am 64.
