What Causes Repeated Yeast Infections And UTI?

Hi, over the past four months, I ve had 3 yeast infections, and 3 weeks ago I had a UTI, I went to the doctor for the UTI and they took a pee test and gave me antibiotics. When they found out everything was ok in my pee, they told me I can stop taking the antibiotics. I felt better. Now, yesterday I felt like I constantly had to pee and when I went it wasn t all coming out. I drank cranberry juice and felt better. Today, I have to pee alot, when I go, it doesn t feel like its all coming out, I pee a little bit of blood and it burns after I pee. I am due for my period tomorrow. Why do I keep getting these infections and problems?

Hi,

Your symptoms suggestive of a repeat attack of urinary tract infection.

You have to rule out any stone in the urinary tract if present and diabetes. For that get investigated with x-ray and ultrasonography examination along with random blood sugar estimation.

Urine culture is also advisable to choose an appropriate antibiotic.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami, General & Family Physician
