What Causes Retaining Of Products Of Conception In Endometrial Cavity After A Miscarriage?

i had miscarriage 3 weeks ago,doctors didn't do D and C to me.they just removed the gestational sac and said some tissue will come out naturaly. then today i had ultrasound but showed echogenities in the endometrial cavity-retained products of conception.What does it mean?
