What Causes Rib Cage Pain While Breathing After Treated For Pneumonia?

Few days back , i have sufferer from pneumonia. Now , after 6 days of treatment in hospital , i feel better. But now problem is that when i lay straight on bed, there is pain below the rib cage with breathing in and out. I dnt kbow why the pain occured . When i ask to doc about tge pain , he said this is a gas problem. If u understand pls help me

Hello,Thanks for using Healthcaremagic. i had gone through the data posted. if thepain is on the same sid of pneumonia it is likely that it is Pleuritic chest pain due to involvement of pleura.

pleuritic pain increases on cough or taking deep breath. it decreases when you lie down on the side of problem.

second probability is it it is right side then rule out Hepatitis which can occur during the course of illness in pneumonia.
