Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had trouble after swimming. the trouble is my right ear gets blocked, and have trouble hearing. it seems to be ear wax. ive gone to my regular doctor and they just use water and flush out my ear with water. it happened again and I tried myself to flush it out with water, debrox , and peroxide. nothing is working. should I just go back to my regular doctor and let him do it?
Noted your history about recurrent right ear blockage, particularly after swimming, tried at home with syringing, also done by your Doctor but not clear yet. This obviously means that you have either wax or fungal ball. The best way is to consult an ENT Surgeon so that with the help of endoscopy the diagnosis will be confirmed so that you can have proper management as per the cause found. In case of wax if it is not fully impacted or fungal ball can be well suctioned by your ENT Surgeon. And most important is visualization of the tympanic membrane to be sure whether all inner things are normal or need an additional treatment. Do not try anything at home.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. T. Chandrakant, ENT and General Surgeon
