What Causes Right Rib Cage Tenderness, Chest Pain And Cough With Phlegm?
Hi. I had a laparascopy on friday. I know I still have a bit of trapped air as can still feel it but the organ under my right rib is very tender and sore to touch, my chest is hurting and I m coughing oads since but it s greeny stuff coming up. And it s tender to touch round the back on my right side where my kidney is too. Never felt like this when I have had previous laparoscopys and this is my 4th. Please can u tell me if this is normal or if I need to ring out of hours as struggling with the pain. I m only on paracetamol and Ibuprofen many thankss
The symptoms seem to be related to a respiratory tract infection. I recommend to use a mucolytic for the phlegm such as Mucinex. I also recommend to drink liquids. If the symptoms continue, you should take a cycle of antibiotics to treat the infection.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
