Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Right-sided Abdominal Pain When Diagnosed With Mild Fatty Liver?
I have had constant right sided pain that feels like cramping around through to the back for several months. I have had a abdominal ultrasound that was clear with mild fatty liver. All blood work is excellent. Have visited my GP 4 times since June 1st with this pain. Last week was in the office 2 times and treated with Bactrim, Flagyl and Levson. None of this has worked. Should I go to an ER and request a abdominal CT?
There are many possible causes of pain in the right side of the abdomen. I see that you have already done an ultrasound without result. So, I suggest a CT scan of the abdomen for further evaluation. Meanwhile, I suggest to use a spasmolytic such as Buscopan to relieve the symptom.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
