I have recently been getting intermittent intense headaches, usually starting in the morning that wake me up. I have a history of migraine headaches, but this is completely different pain. It is localized in my right eye, top right of my head, and right ear, as if you could connect those points inside my head. My right pupil becomes dilated/ fixed. The pain causes nausea. My first suspicion was from caffeine, but I have been able to rule that out based on keeping track of caffeine consumption relating to when I get this headache. I do not experience light sensitivity or disorientation like I do when I get a migraine. No over the counter pain medicine has any effect on the pain. Sometimes this can last up to 2 full days. What could cause this? What sort of doctor should I consult to figure this out?
