What Causes Right Sided Pain In Lower Back Post CT Scan?

i have been diagnosed with diverticulitis. I was given Cipro and Flagyl on Tuesday. On Thrusday night the pain was worse so went to ER. CT scan on Thursday was normal. All blood work was normal except for Kidney was 50? and he said that was normal for being on the cipro. Had diarrhea on Friday and some on Saturday which I think was from the stuff they made me drink for CT. Today, Sunday stools are a bit loose but not like Friday but I have pain in lower back on the right. I don t know if I should be concerned. Wait to maybe see Dr. tomorrow?

Hello,

I do not think you should be worried .You are under treatment and the pain is a normal reaction of it. Also the fact that CT scan is without any abnormalities supports the above. I recommend you to continue the treatment and follow your doctor instructions and everything will be okay.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Jolanda Nikolla, Pulmonologist
