What Causes Right Sided Pain In The Lower Back Upon Laying Down?
Hi, I am experiencing sharp throbbing pains in the lower right side of my back that is worse when laying down. When I lay down, my right leg goes numb between the hip and knee and also at the foot. I have also been experiencing shortness of breath upon laying down. If I try to take a decent breathe in I cough and get a tight feeling. Any ideas what this could be?

What Causes Right Sided Pain In The Lower Back Upon Laying Down?
Hi, Shortness of breath upon turning to the right side would mean you need to take at least a chest X-ray. Back pain may be due to disc hernia or spinal canal stenosis. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Suneel, Internal Medicine Specialist
