What Causes Right Sided Pain In The Lower Back Upon Laying Down?

Hi, I am experiencing sharp throbbing pains in the lower right side of my back that is worse when laying down. When I lay down, my right leg goes numb between the hip and knee and also at the foot. I have also been experiencing shortness of breath upon laying down. If I try to take a decent breathe in I cough and get a tight feeling. Any ideas what this could be?

Hi,

Shortness of breath upon turning to the right side would mean you need to take at least a chest X-ray. Back pain may be due to disc hernia or spinal canal stenosis.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
