What Causes Right-sided Pain On Neck And Hypothyroidism During Pregnancy?

I have an ache on the right side of my neck that starts like a cramp but continues to ache. I have hypothyroidism, but I don t know what it keeps coming back. then the pain goes down around my ribs like a spasm and my stomach protrudes like I am 9 months pregnant. The spasms are so bad that it is hard to breathe. I keep getting it and it last hours, then finally slows down and goes away. it s scary and it is getting progressively worse each time. Thank you for any help you can give me.

Hi,

As pregnancy might need thyroxine dose more, check your bound and free levels of TSH, T3, T4 levels and titration of dose to bring levels to normal. Check blood glucose also. Is your food digesting well? Carbohydrates deficiency can lead these symptoms [hypothyroid myopathy]. Creatine kinase levels will help with the diagnosis. There is physical therapy, follow up from endocrinologist is recommended. Don't skip levothyroxine.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
