What Causes Right-sided Swelling In Neck And Sharp Ear Pain?
I have swelling on the right side of my neck in the lymph node area... I am also experiencing periodic sharp ear pain. I also have an infected tonsil....the tonsil did not cause any pain or discomfort until the past couple of weeks. I see and ENT and he has suggested surgery. ..I would prefer not. Lately I became aware that the ongoing use of Tylenol could cause inner ear pain. I take Tylenol for arthritic pain. I don t want to go on pharmaceuticals as they are harmful to the body. Do you have a suggestion for me to help alleviate pain? Thank you.
The human nose, throat, and ears are quite connected through a tube called the eustachian tube. Infection in any one of these sites can spread to the related organs causing problems. First You should focus your attention on tonsilitis treatment i.e of course surgery, it will ease your reoccurring pain in the ear. Second, for the lump, proper examination is required plus a CT scan. Keep both ears away from getting damp and use oiled cotton buds in the ears where ever you take bath.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Muhammad Bilal Khan, General & Family Physician
