General & Family Physician, Dr. Deepak 's Response
HI.... Thank you for asking HCM. LBD (Lewy Body Dementia) is Parkinsonism associated with visual hallucination. Rigidity that you are mentioning is a part of Parkinsonism. In Parkinsonism there is decreased amount of Dopamine which causes rigidity and increased amount of Acetyl choline which causes tremors. All these disbilities might cause depression. And to treate it Citalopram is given, Rivastigmine is given foe Dementia. So this rigidity is not due to these medications but because of the disese he has. Hope i have cleared your query. Bye.
