Fungal infections that affect the facial parts are commonly caused due to usage of contaminated clothes, towels, direct contact with infected people or infected pets. You are suggested to take care of your hygiene, do not share your clothes or toiletries. Use towels for personal use. Make sure your pets are not infected. If yes, let them get treated.
Wash your clothes and bedding in hot water frequently. Get your house cleaned. You should take a course of antifungals (fluconazole) orally. You can apply a thin layer of antifungal ointment on the upper eye lid that is affected but make very sure that it does not go into your eyes. Take caution that antifungal ointment does not go inside the eyes.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
