What Causes Ringing In Ears And Inflammation Inspite Of Taking Folic Acid?

Last year I had inflammation in my ears. My doctor referred to a specialist. He was able to remove wax, dead skin and fluid from both ears, but I still had problems hearing. It was a roaring sound. Very stressful. I couldn t sleep at night, couldn t eat. I lost a lot of weight. My blood pressure went up to the point where my doctor prescribed two medications. My foot doctor told me to take Folic Acid. I have had some relief, but I want this condition gone for good. What do you suggest? I did have 2 examinations to find out if it was a disease....Thank God it wasn t.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your you have ringing in ears and inflammation inspite of taking Folic acid which seems to be due to ear infection, ear wax accumulation and any internal injury to ear. Need not to worry about it. Medications prescribed by doctor are appropriate. I would suggest you to take antibiotic Ciprofloxacin you are not allergic to it along with Ibuprofen and Loratadine. Put Otogesic ear drops 2-3 times a day. Take proper rest. If symptoms keeps on persisting you should visit ENT specialist once and get it examined and start treatment after proper prescription. Get all the lab tests done for proper examination. You should go for otoscopic examination and audimetery testing.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
