What Causes Rise In BP Level, Headaches And Heartburn After Lisinopril Withdrawal?

I stopped taking liscinopril 2 years ago. Now my blood pressure has been 139/92 and higher. My pulse has also been over 80. Am I at risk for a stroke or heart attack? I have had headaches and heartburn and not feeling my best lately. I've also not taken my synthroid in 2 months. Will I be alright?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, i do care for your concern.
The anti-hypertensive drugs should not be stopped immediately, as this cause rebound hypertension and may result in stroke, left ventricular failure and other related renal and retinal complications.
and synthyroid drug if not taken will also cause cardiomegaly and other related symptoms.
both of this combined will have cumulative effect and cause more harm.
It is advisable to consult your physician, you can as with him about starting on medicines again, and share your difficulties in taking these medicines.
Hope you will return to healthy living again.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
