Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hello doctor... I am a 25 yr old female and my esr is very high...its around 110..i have got a test for RA,thyroid done and they show negative...however my vitamin D levels are less...and hb% is 9...so why is my ESR very high? are there any specific tests that I should go through?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have rise in ESR levels around 110 which could be due to chronic inflammation in body. It indicates level of infection in body, once infection will be subsided it will come back to normal. Certain pathological conditions such as anemia, polycythemia, tuberculosis and autoimmune disease could be the cause for raised this. In your case it seems to be due to iron deficiency anemia. I would suggest you to take diet rich in iron. Get blood tests redone after every one month. Visit general physician once and get reports examined. Take carrot juice, spinach. Drink plenty of water.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
