Hello and welcome to HCM,
Jaundice is characterized by increase in serum bilirubin levels.
Your lab reports suggest that there is increase in
total bilirubin.
The normal level of total bilirubin id below 1.2 mg/dl.
The normal level of direct bilirubin is between 0-0.2 mg/dl.
Thus, your lab reports show that there is increase in direct bilirubin as well as indirect bilirubin.
Both direct and indirect bilirubin increase in conditions where is damage to
liver cells and obstruction to flow of bilirubin.
Bilirubin flows from liver to
duodenum via biliary channels.
Damage to liver cells is often accompanied by elevation of
SGOT and SGPT.
Normal SGOT and SGPT rule out damage to liver cells.
Thus, there is possibility of obstruction of the biliary channels.
I suggest you to consult your physician for clinical assessment and relevant investigations of the hepato-biliary tract.
Thanks and take care
