What Causes Rise In Body Temperature Inspite Of Taking Ibuprofen In Children?

My three year old son came home active and normal but a little warmer to the touch. As the day progressed he became less active more warmer didnt want to eat dinner just wanted to sleep. Took his temperature it was 101.9 (axillary). And gave him 5mLs of Ibprofen. What s wrong and what to do?

Welcome to healthcaremagic.com. Sorry about the sick child, however, Ibuprofen will not usually lower your body temperature, it is Tylenol or acetaminophen that is a fever reducer. Along with Tylenol make sure that the child is having lots of fluids as he is loosing water via body heat. I hope this helps. Good luck.
