What Causes Rise In The Sugar Levels After The Shoulder Surgery?
My husband has had shoulder surgery and is unable to do much exercise . He is 57 years old and about 50 lbs overweight. He went for a fasting blood sugar and his rate was 139. He has never had a problem before and does not feel bad etc. What other tests should the doctor perform before deciding that he is diabetic?
Hi, I had gone through your query and understand your concerns.
Any patient who has doubt will be tested for Fasting and post prandial blood sugar levels. If they are high then we should test for Hb1Ac i.e, glycosilated heamoglobin which shows the blood sugar level of about 3 months. If this high then we diagnose the person as diabetic. depending on sugar levels we first go with Diet and exercises like walking. If not controlled we go for drugs.
Hope this answers your query. Thank you.
