What Causes Round Dark Spots In The Vision?

when I look to the right and quickly to the left then back and forth I see a slight thin band of light in a circular form for about a fraction of second in my left eye. I went into a dark room and flicked eyes back and forth right to left and saw a more pronounced light circle almost perfectly round.... Is this a symptom of any known optical disorders or disease ?

1. history of black(dark) spots and flashes of light and floaters points either towards disease of retina/optic nerve or disease of vitreous so in order to confirm the same please seek an opinion of Ophthalmologist for further necessary assistance and evaluation.
