What Causes Runny Nose, nasal Congestion And Mild Fever?
I am now on day 4 of whatever it is I might have. The first day was runny nose, congestion, with mild fever. Took Tylenol and it helped a bit. The next day I woke up feeling much better but still had congestion and a head ache. Thought maybe it was allergies instead so I took an allergy pill. It worked until the next morning I felt nauseous and still had a runny nose. Committed twice and felt better. Today I feel like I m not sick but still have runny nose and now my chest is feeling very tight and sore and I am now loosing my voice. No fever since the first day.
It could be a simple viral rhinitis. As of now, you can take over the counter available anti-cold pills which contain paracetamol and antihistamine as active ingredients.
Nasal decongestant drops like xylometazoline can also be tried. Steam inhalation will help to open up clogged sinuses and symptomatic relief will be obtained.
If symptoms persist, it is better to consult a physician and get evaluated.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
