What Causes Salty Mouth Along With Headaches?

Hi, For the last few days I have had a very, very salty taste in my mouth with enlarged Circumvallate Papillae. I also don t feel very well. I ve been sleeping a lot and have a headache, at times, and an overall feeling of malaise. What could cause these symptoms?

Hi,

Salty taste in your mouth is an indication of dehydration though it can also be due to some infection(sinus/glossitis) & stress. Sometimes, it can be due to high blood sugar level when you may have a feeling of dryness/saltiness in your mouth.

Allergy to certain food, latex, mouth trauma & Herpes Simplex infection may affect the muscles of your tongue. Change brush & tongue cleaner every 2-3 months, avoid addictions(smoking/alcohol), take plenty of water, ORS & other rehydrating fluids, avoid oral sex.

Maintain oral hygiene. Visit ER, get STI tests done, get evaluated , get treated. You will be treated with antibiotics, antivirals depending upon the severity of the illness. You can take Acetaminophen (tylenol) to get relieve.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
