What Causes Salty Taste In Mouth And Vomiting Despite Discontinuing Metformin?
I was taking metformin it gave me the worse side effects. I stopped taking it a week ago and still have bad effects, vomiting salty taste in mouth. I also got my periods and it has the worst odor like something died inside me. Could this be from medication as well?
Dehydration, dryness of mouth, oral infection, medications and any oral bleeding can all cause a salty taste in mouth. Drugs like metformin can cause bitter taste in mouth and the symptoms will reduce 7 to 10 days after stopping the drug. Maintenance of oral hygiene, tongue cleaning, mouth gargling with betadine can be useful. Adequate hydration and treatment of infections is essential.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
