What Causes Sarcoidosis?

I was diagnosed some time ago, years actually with what is called Sarcoidosis. I am a white male 66 living in the US. I was a plumber for over 20 yrs working with PVC Pipe and Glue and cleaner, along with Lead and pouring lead joints. I recently found out that a friend I used to work with had also been diagnosed with the same disease. Is there a correlation to the plumbing and this problem?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Sarcoidosis is a inflammatory disease involving multiple organs of the body & its cause is not known so far. However, certain studies show that it has some genetic & environmental role.
Plumbers are at risk of toxic asbestos exposure because of a number of asbestos-containing products they use and repair. So it is, unfortunately, associated with lung diseases called occupational lung diseases.
