What Causes Scabies During Pregnancy?
I m about 34-36 weeks pregnant and was recently diagnosed with scabies. I ve used 1 & 1\2 tubes of 5% permethrin in a week and 3 days a little more then prescribed due to the torture but my itch seems to be worse which is keeping me awake all night and now to top that off my hands have been swelling especially my right 1 along with severe aches and pains I don t think this is due to being pregnant so my question is could the creme be causing the pain & swelling or could it maybe even be the scabies alone?

Permethrin side effect include rash and irritation at the area of use. Use during pregnancy appears to be safe. Antihistamines may improve pruritus which may persist for up to 4 weeks after successful treatment. As your doctor to prescribe any medication during pregnancy.
