Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello I have a client whom I have been doing pedicures for about 2 years . She haven t been for two months and whenever she cam for her services today, her feet was very scaly or flaky. I have not changed any products so what could have caused this to happen?
There can be wide range of causes that may lead to flaky and scaly skin and the most important cause would be dehydration or lack of moisture in the skin. Other causes could be excess washing of the area, exposure to irritants (fabric, chemicals, certain lotions, etc.), excessively cold/dry weather, improper care, certain genetic/medical conditions, etc. One may consider looking for the possible cause as mentioned and try to keep the feet adequately moist, warm with proper application of moisturizer and avoid any possible exposure to irritants.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Eftekhar, General & Family Physician
