What Causes Scaly Patches On Head, ear And Penis While Suffering From Severe Dandruff?
over the past 3 months i went from having no dandruff whatsoever to having really bad dandruff coming off in large patches. the inside skin of my ear is always flaking in large patches as well. the shaft of my penis has a spot that is constantly dry and scaly, sometimes it has other patches around the head. its causing some scarring. i was wondering what the possible cause of all of the above could be.
Dry and flaky patches on the scalp occurs due to dandruff or seborrheic dermatitis. It can also occur on oily areas of the body, such as the face, upper chest and back.
Medicated shampoo containing ketoconazole and zinc pyrithrone should be used twice a week.Washing hair on alternate days, avoiding excess oil application on scalp will reduce the symptoms.
Steroids or other antiinflammatory agents may be required in severe inflammation.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
