What Causes Scanty Body Hair While On Thyroid Medication?

I am presently on thyroid medication for low thyroid. I recently noticed that I do not have any hair on my arms, legs or arm pits. Also my eye lashes are short stubby hairs. No hair on the bottom lids. My last thyroid test was in Sept. I am not able to lose weight, but am not tired and have a lot of energy. Have some sleepless nights.

Hi,

By your history and description, possibility of over correction of thyroid hormones is more likely. So better to consult doctor and get done repeat thyroid function test (TFT - free T3, free T4 and TSH).

If TFT is normal then no need to worry for thyroid hormones. May be you might have other hormone imbalance.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
