hello doctor, my relative has been diagnosed with sclerodermadoctors say it is only mild formantinuclear antibody is positive while all other tests are fine...she is taking antihypertensives and drugs for hypothyroidism...what is scleroderma and what should i advise her...is there anything to worry?any serious complications
Scleroderma is not known what causes scleroderma, but it is thought to be an autoimmune condition that causes the body to produce too much connective tissue.
This leads to a thickening, or fibrosis, and scarring of tissue. Connective tissue forms the fibers that make up the framework that supports the body.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Monish De, Oncologist
