What Causes Secretion Of Fluid Around Lungs While On Treatment For Pancreatitis?
My mom was taken to the hospital with stomach pains. she was diagnosed with acute pancreatitis she has been in the hospital for 8 days they started her on oral pancreatic enzymes yesterday and today they found fluid on her lungs is there anything I should be pushing for them to do
Hello dear Greetings Regarding your experience mother developing a fluid in the lung following a treatment for Acute Pancreatitis I will suggest strongly that this is as a result of extravasation of fluid from the inflammatory pancreas into the lung via a costodiaphramatic opening (little open)
If the fluid is large enough preventing her from breathing let them put a chest tube drain however if the fluid is Small then let them give some broad spectrum antibiotics such as injection ceftriaxone or rocephin and continue as outpatient on tablet antibiotics
I hope this helps Regards
