What Causes Seizure And Breathlessness Inspite Of Taking Avastin For GBM?
My husband (has glioblastoma multiforme) is taking cpt-11 and Avastin. He periodically get these sensory seizure type chills that gives him goosebumps and make him feel cold. He also gets shortness of breath with these episodes. I have also notice him having night sweats. I checked his temp and it s a normal 98. Should I be concerned?
As per my clinical experience, the different molecules are used for Glioblastoma multiforme condition. The Avastin contains Bevacizumab works as a monoclonal antibody used for variety of cancer conditions.
The CPT 11 contains Camptothecin as a chemotherapeutic agent for Glioblastoma multiforme condition. The seizure and breathlessness issues are secondary to advancing effects of basic pathology and addition of supportive medications can help to certain extent but not much.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
