What Causes Sensitive Bump In Temple And Scalp?

Ive had a very sensitive bump show up in my temple area 3 weeks ago. there are about three more in a chain like fashion in close proximity to the main one. that same side of my scalp also has a itchy bump. Hot water and the sun really agrivates the bumps. They are hard to see, slighty red sometimes that side feels numbness. Im 51 and going through alot of stress (my husband passed away in Feb. 2015. Could this be a slight case of shingles? its not acne.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Fungal or bacterial infections of the scalp can the cause of such bumps. Allergy to sun can also cause such bumps which is known as polymorphic light eruptions. I would suggest a direct examination in order to identify the cause. Anti-fungal scalp lotion and oral Fluconazole can be used to reduce fungal infection.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
