What Causes Sensitive Sensation On Upper Inner Left Thigh?
Hi, For about 5 days now I have had a very sensitive sensation on my upper inner left thigh. I have been running a lot for a few weeks now, thought it might be chafing. I have also dropped 13 Lbs in about 3wks. Not sure if that might have anything to do with it. Along where this sensitivity is are also visible stretch marks. Just concerned as to what should I do?
The commonest cause of sensation in upper inner thigh is compression of the sensory nerve supplying to this area. Since you are running a lot the muscles of lower abdomen get stretched, of course for a good reason but at the same time can cause nerve entrapment syndrome. Another cause is development of an indirect inguinal hernia stretching the nerve.
Hence I would advise you to consult a general surgeon for clinical examination and get a proper advise. Stop running for a few days to relax the muscles. Losing weight is not related to this problem.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
