Hello,

Painful, burning sensation on the torso may occur due to neurological disorders but since you have a history of herpes it can be due to it. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a dermatologist. Get blood tests, biopsy of the skin(viral culture, PCR test, etc) if required. Your treatment will depend on the reports received & your clinical symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
