What Causes Sensitivity To Certain Sounds?

HI I have been experiencing over the past 12 years, a super sensitivity to noises, and certain sounds. Which i find odd because i can listen to my music when i clean up or work out on full blast it doesnt bother me. I have worked as a bartender for about 20 years and have had stacks and large speaker blaring away and it never bothers me. That said, more little noises, my childs whining, someone speaking to loudly in my opinion, constant pounding or tapping etc causes me to become extremely uncomfortable, irritated and even burst of an uncontrollable rage is the aftermath of it all. It seems to have gotten worse over the last three years. What would this be and is there anything that could help me???
